Eye Exams for Glasses and Contacts
We address your eye care needs to offer you the best quality of life at whatever stage of life you’re in. We take a proactive approach and discuss all options, treatments, and/or preventative measures that may apply to your unique circumstances.
Computer Vision Syndrome
Computer Vision Syndrome, also known as Digital Eye Strain, has become increasingly common in our digital age. According to the American Optometric Association, the average American worker spends seven hours per day on the computer, in addition to after-hours smartphone use. Many patients experience eye discomfort and other vision problems as a result of this prolonged screen time.
We have several options to help alleviate Digital Eye Strain, the simplest of which is the 20-20-20 Rule: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and view something 20 feet away. There are also digital lens types such as EyeZen lenses and lens treatments such as blue blocking anti-glare coatings to reduce eye fatigue and strain.
Since we can’t stop using digital devices in this day and age, we need to practice self-care for our eyes and manage the symptoms.
Test Driving Contact Lenses
We understand that wearing contact lenses as a new wearer can be both exciting and daunting at the same time. So we offer free contact lens “test drives”. If interested, we will put a pair of contact lenses that fit your needs on your eyes to let you experience the freedom of not wearing glasses. Then we will help take them off for you before you leave. No obligations.
We work with all types and modalities: dailies (no fuss) contacts, toric (astigmatism correcting) contacts, progressive (far and near) contacts, color contacts, cosplay contacts, and contacts for dry or sensitive eyes. In addition to soft lenses, we also fit rigid gas permeable contacts, overnight reshaping contacts, and scleral lenses.
Whether you wear glasses, contacts, or both, we’ll make sure your prescription is comfortable and provides you with the best clarity possible. Rest assured, we’ll keep working until we find the best fit for you!
Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT)
Also known as Orthokeratology or Ortho-K, Corneal Refractive Therapy is a non-surgical way of correcting nearsightedness (blurry vision at far). Patients wear special contact lenses during sleep that gently reshape the corneas; then during waking hours, they would be able to see comfortably and clearly at far without daytime glasses or contacts. This has been shown to be highly beneficial for children with early onset of nearsightedness (myopia) to slow its progression.
Visit our Nearsightedness in Kids/Teens page to learn more about Myopia Management.
Scleral Lenses
If you’ve had difficulty finding contact lenses that work for you because your prescription is too high or your eyes are too dry, let us know! We specialize in hard-to-fit contact lenses.
Visit our Scleral Lenses page for more details.
